What do you look forward to? Your reasons to be healthy likely come with some idea of what your life will be like when you get there. Perhaps you will take a dream vacation, finally go skydiving, waterskiing, run a marathon, or take up ballroom dancing. Whatever your dream life looks like, it does not need to stay in the clouds. Putting timelines to your dreams turns them to goals. Having clearly defined goals that you are excited to achieve keeps you motivated to move forward through some of your challenging times.
Close your eyes. Imagine how you will look and feel when you reach your goal(s). Identify things that you will do. Whatever those items are that you always wanted to do, write them down and put dates by them.
Now that you have your list, identify what it will take to get there. Perhaps your dream vacation requires you to save money, get healthy, and find someone to watch the kids; or running a marathon requires you to get up and start training.
Remember, you do not have to tackle them all at once. Select one or two goals, start moving forward. With every step you take toward your goal, you build confidence. With confidence, you find energy. With energy, you build momentum.
It is just as important to enjoy the journey. Let’s journey together. Contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
